Love Island comes to an end tonight as the public vote for 2018’s winning couple. As this year’s contestants prepare to fly home to UK club tours, spin-off TV shows and bulk powder endorsements, a talented group of artists will also reap the rewards of featuring on Love Island 2018.

Across 8 weeks and (a scary) 48 hours of viewing time, more than 645 songs have featured on Love Island’s soundtrack. We’ve uncovered the fastest-growing artists who have featured on the show.

1. Dan Caplen

A classically-trained multi-instrumentalist with a gravelly voice and sharp songwriting abilities, Dan Caplen is a breath of fresh air to London’s contemporary music scene. Caplen has had three of his tracks featured on this year’s show, most notably soundtracking the moment when Adam and Jack made breakfast in bed for Dani.

Featured on 321 influential playlists this week, Dan has picked up a colossal 32 million playlist followers, after a 619,000 increase over the past 7 days (Instrumental Music Scouting Platform).

The Voice Kids finalist Donel has just released his debut single, in collaboration with frtyfve favourite Swarmz. “Bang Like A Drum” is a fun track, fusing elements of afro-beats and contemporary pop. The 16-year-old British-Zimbabwean recently performed at the Queen’s 92nd birthday, so probably didn’t flinch when his new track soundtracked the islanders morning routine. Even so, Donel has picked up over 2.1 million playlist followers this week and has seen a massive 76% increase in his direct following (Instrumental Music Scouting Platform).

3. Ebenezer

UK based rapper Ebenezer first picked up attention with a guest spot on Rejje Snow’s hit “Flexin”. Making moves with more collaborations, his track with Duke Dumont picked up a feature on the first episode of Love Island 2018. A funk-influenced dance track, featuring Ebenezer’s backing vocals and bars, “Inhale” illustrates his versatility as an artist. As well as picking up over 12 million streams to date, Ebenezer has seen a 30% increase in his direct artist following this week, illustrating genuine engagement with his music (Instrumental Music Scouting Platform).

Foy’s cover of George Benson’s “Give Me The Night” was featured on Love Island’s 2nd July episode, soundtracking the Islanders in bed. That night, it entered the iTunes chart at #58. Despite picking up 13,418 Shazam’s, 165,000 streams and a whole host of online attention since, it is still not clear who Foy is. Artist? Producer? Ghostwriter? No one knows.

What we do know is that the record was distributed by Ont’ Sofa Records, home to featured vocalist Scott Quinn (pictured). The cover has blown up since its feature on the show and Foy has picked up over 125,000 playlist followers this week, with features on 7 influential playlists (Instrumental Music Scouting Platform).

After features on Love Island and the release of her latest single “Ultraviolet”, Freya has enjoyed an 8% increase in her artist following to over 20,000, and a 760,000 increase in her playlist following, which now stands at over 13.3 million (Instrumental Music Scouting Platform).

James has picked up an incredible 3 million playlist followers this week as he shares his perfectly timed single “Good Life” (Instrumental Music Scouting Platform).
