After a childhood of illegal acid house raves hosted by her parents and rebelling from school at 16, Shannon Saunders has used her unique experiences to shape what she calls an ever-developing "dark-pop" sound.

Soon after moving to London, Shannon began collaborating with artists such as Wilkinson, Sonny Fodera and Mash'd N Kutcher. Under her new alias iiola, she kicked things off with her debut single "don't shut me up", which has picked up over 359K streams to date.

Iiola has picked up over 5.6 million playlist followers this week

Eager to keep the momentum going, iiola has just released her new single “sickly sweet”, in collaboration with Toby Scott and Paul Harris. With features on New Music Friday, Indie Pop Chillout and New Pop Revolution, she has picked up over 250,000 new playlist followers this week, taking her total to over 5.6 million (Instrumental Music Scouting Platform). Her debut EP 'Chrysalis' is also in the works and expected later this year, making iiola one to watch in the coming months.
