Dua Lipa will perform at UEFA Champions League Final
Spotify is launching a weekly playlist that tells you what your friends are listening to
Dua Lipa will perform before Liverpool take on Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League Final.
Adding another high note to her record-breaking year, the ‘New Rules’ and ‘One Kiss’ star will perform at the 2018 UEFA Champions League Final Opening Ceremony, presented by Pepsi.
Dua Lipa won both best British solo female and British breakthrough artist at the BRIT Awards this year, following her streaming record success. After emigrating to London as a teenager, she balanced her music career with modelling whilst working on nightclub doors.
Despite losing out on the best LP award to fellow breakthrough star Stormzy, her sixth single to appear on her self-titled debut album, ‘New Rules’ made her the youngest ever female solo artist to surpass 1 billion views on YouTube. The multi-platinum artist is also the most-streamed female artist in the world on Spotify.
Dua Lipa is the 3rd most listened artist on Spotify this month
With features on over 1,200 influential playlists this week, Dua Lipa has over 195 million total playlist followers, a figure which has increased by 3.7 million over the past seven days, also making her the 3rd most listened artist on Spotify this month (Instrumental).
The final will be played at the NSC Olimpiyskiy Stadium in Kiev on May 26th and will air in over 220 countries and territories around the world.
Dua Lipa said: “I was honoured to be asked by UEFA and Pepsi to perform at the ‘UEFA Champions League Final Opening Ceremony’ – it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. I can’t wait to get in front of the fans and be part of such an exciting event – I’m planning to put on an unforgettable show!”
