Is Madonna set to headline Glastonbury for the first time?
According to sources, Madonna is being lined up to headline Glastonbury 2019, as the Eavis family look set to announce a huge line-up to follow a fallow year at Worthy Farm.
Madonna has been rumoured to top the Pyramid Stage for a number of years, but sources have told The Sun amongst other sources, that the ‘Like A Virgin’ icon will be part of the first big lineup announcement.
The source reportedly said:
“Preparations are already well underway after they’ve taken this year off, and Michael and his daughter Emily Eavis want to make it better than ever. They have always been massive fans of Madonna and know she would put on an unforgettable show. It was really important that they had a diverse line-up for the 2019 festival after criticism of previous ones.”
Arctic Monkeys, Kendrick Lamar and Oasis also rumoured for Glasto 2019
In the past, Michael Eavis has spoken about his desire to book the Queen of Pop, so it would not be a surprise if she was at the top of their hit list. As the rumour-mill fuels Glastonbury anticipation, Kendrick Lamar, Arctic Monkeys, ABBA, Fleetwood Mac, Oasis, The Cure and Taylor Swift have also been linked with a headline slot. To avoid disappointment, we are not going to believe anything until it is on that poster!
With only 364 days, 13 hours and 21 minutes (at time of writing) to go until the Glastonbury gates open again (not counting or anything), the countdown is on!
