In day one of its release, Post Malone’s ‘beerbongs & bentleys’ smashed multiple streaming records.

Spotify took to Twitter to congratulate the American hip-hop artist after he broke multiple streaming records.

‘beerbongs & bentleys’ broke the record for the most first-day streams of the tracks on an album, in the U.S. at 47, 930, 039 and globally at 78, 744, 748.

These first-day stats are staggering and have continued to rise over the weekend, making it likely that the rapper’s sophomore album will also break first-week stream records.

At the time of writing, Malone’s viral hit ‘Rockstar’ leads the way as his most streamed track, with over 970 million plays on Spotify. However, both tracks were released as singles, so have had more time to pick up streams. ‘Congratulations’ (711 million streams) and ‘I Fall Apart’ (483 million streams) from his debut album ‘Stoney’ remain his second and third most streamed tracks of all time.

Post Malone has also picked up features on 23 influential playlists with more than 10,000 followers in the past seven days. This will drive his total playlist following this week, which currently stands at over 42 million, a global ranking of third (Instrumental).
