After living on BBQ playlists for ten years, Razorlight are back.
Well kind of. Frontman Johnny Borrell has rejuvenated the noughties indie rock greats and they look set to release a new album.
‘Olympus Seething’ will be the first Razorlight record for ten years. Of course, in this quiet period, we were graced by Borrell’s debut solo album and his questionable headwear.
Whilst they’re claiming a return, the rest of the lineup will be made of guitarist David Ellis and Pretenders drummer Martin Chambers. However, as part of this surreal comeback, their live set up will feature David Sullivan Kaplan on drums (members since 2009) and bassist, João Mello (member since 2014).
Whilst most bands mark their comebacks with a surprise single, Borrell and co have gifted us with four. “We’ve been away for a long time and wanted to give more to the fans than just one single”, Borrell explained. “I’m really excited about the album and really excited about doing Razorlight again”.
‘Olympus Seething’ is out on 26th October, and you can already listen to the title track, alongside other featured singles “Got To Let The Good Times Back Into Your Life”, “Japanrock” and “Sorry”. We’d be lying if we said they compete with “Pop Song 2006”, “In The Morning” and “Fall To Pieces”, but they’re still worthy of a boogie.
