SoundCloud streams added to UK Official Charts

Streams from SoundCloud will now be counted towards the UK and Ireland's Official Albums and Singles Charts

It has been announced that licensed and monetized streams from SoundCloud will be counted towards the UK and Ireland's Official Albums and Singles Charts.

SoundCloud data will be added to the weighted sales figures calculated by the Official Charts Company (OCC), which already include streams from Spotify and Apple Music.

This follows recent additions to chart calculations. From 6th July 2018, the Official Singles Chart has included streams and downloads of official artist music videos, from streaming services including as Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music and Tidal.

SoundCloud's Content Partnerships Director, Raoul Chatterjee said: “SoundCloud is the foundational music platform for creators and we are committed to empowering them with the best tools and services to grow their careers.

“Charts are a great measure of success for creators, and we’re excited their SoundCloud streams will now count toward the UK and Ireland’s Official Charts,” he added.
