Spotify is testing personalised recommendations in editor-curated playlists

Spotify is reportedly testing the personalisation of editor-curated playlists, such as Chill Hits and Beast Mode.

Spotify is testing the personalisation of its editor-curated playlists, according to Hypebot. With such personalisation, tracks would be added to official editor-curated playlists to suit the taste of the user. The function will utilise algorithmic song selections in a similar way to Discover Weekly and Release Radar.

Spotify is testing the feature globally on select mid-tier playlists including Beast Mode, Chill Hits, Dance Party and Metal Ballads. It is understood that if successful, the algorithmic feature will be rolled out to more users and playlists.

"We are always testing new ways to create better listening experiences for more users, while also finding ways for users to discover more music," said a Spotify spokesperson.
