Spotify Publishing Analytics is 'the first analytics tool from a streaming service built for publishers'
Spotify has introduced Spotify Publishing Analytics in beta, which according to the streaming giant, is "the first analytics tool from a music streaming service built specifically for publishers". Whilst Spotify's Secret Genius program celebrates songwriters and producers, the publishing community has until now been without a feature to assist their day-to-day roles in artist development and administration.
“One of our core missions at Spotify is to enable creators the opportunity to live off their art. The publishing community is integral in supporting the songwriters that create the music we love. With more information, publishers are empowered to make the most of the opportunities the global reach of Spotify provides, and the more information we can share with each other, the more opportunities we can help create for songwriters.”
Spotify Publishing Analytics will give publishers daily streaming statistics for the tracks they have identified, including playlist performance, as well as the ability to view data for each of the songwriters on their roster.
“Armed with this level of streaming data, directly from Spotify, music publishers can gain insights into new opportunities for their songwriters, more efficiently collect royalties on their behalf, and more effectively market their works,” said Patrick Joest, EVP Global Content Partnerships & Synch, BMG.
Spotify Publishing Analytics launches today in beta, and interested publishers can visit Publishers.Spotify.com to learn how they can get started.
