Food delivery app Postmates may have found the solution to long food queues at festivals

Festival organiser Goldenvoice, who put on New York’s Panorama Festival, has announced its partnership with food delivery app Postmates.

Through its collaboration, Goldenvoice hopes to eradicate long food queues at this year’s festival. So instead of queuing for 30 minutes to buy a bowl of noodles, missing a set in the process, festival goers will be able to launch the Postmates app and order food from their phones. As first reported by Amplify, using smart geo-perimeter technology, the app will allow users to pay for their food on the app, notifying them of a pickup time. Their hassle-free meal will be collected at a pickup window, cutting queue times and giving them more time to catch The Weeknd, ODESZA and a whole host of other acts at the festival.

Whilst it is not yet clear whether Postmates will be used at other festivals this summer, we think it’s a pretty clever idea!
