As YouTube launches its new music streaming app, it has announced plans to expand its ‘Artists on the Rise’ program.

Last year, YouTube launched ‘Artists On The Rise’, an initiative to promote the channels of artists that were gaining traction on YouTube’s trending page.

As YouTube launch their new music streaming app, they have announced that the initiative will now operate on a monthly basis and offer one emerging artist promotional and programming support. The ‘Artist on the Rise’ tab will still showcase three tracks a week from emerging artists enjoying significant growth on YouTube.

Jessie Reyez is the first artist to benefit from ‘Artists on the Rise’

Colombian-Canadian singer-songwriter, Jessie Reyez, who has picked up over 22.6 million views on her breakout hit “Figures”, is the first artist to be offered YouTube backing. Having recently returned with a new single “Body Count”, Reyez is also growing rapidly on Spotify.

With features on Pop Rising, Vibras and The Newness, alongside 33 other influential playlists, “Body Count” has picked up over 5.4 million playlist followers (Instrumental).
