East London hip-hop talent Barney Artist has just dropped his new album ‘Home Is Where the Art Is’, packed with hard-hitting storytelling and animated beats. The colourful record boasts a long list of exciting features, including Dornik, Tom Misch and Loyle Carner.

‘Home Is Where the Art Is’ has a number of luminous moments: “Something True” flaunts sunny brass parts and a Goldlink-esque groove, thought the album is punctuated by dark and sometimes alarming moments: ‘LOOK AT YOUR MAN NOW!’ featuring George the Poet is sinister and raw.

It is almost impossible not to feel engaged with Barney Artist, as he explores a number of critical socio-political issues including: the treatment of women, race relations, and the “strength in being open and vulnerable”.

Barney Artist’s playlist following has increased by 58% this week

Picking up support from influential playlists including New Music Friday UK and Mellow Bars, Barney’s playlist following has grown by 752,658 this week (Instrumental Scouting Platform).
