Emily Burns is an exciting voice in the alt-pop world. The 23-year-old artist has just released her follow up to her breakthrough single, with an equally as fiery track, ‘Girlfriend At The Time’.
After emerging in 2018 with her single ‘Bitch’, Burns is set to release her new EP ‘Seven Scenes From The Same Summer’ later this year.
With bouncing synths, pop hooks and super catchy lyrics, the track explores the uncertainties in the early stages of a young relationship.
In her own words, she explains the track: "I wrote this song when I was in the super early stages of a new relationship… that point where you can’t get enough of that one person. I think people get scared when things are going well, I know because I’m the worst for it! So with this song, I was trying to say, don't freak out, just take it as it comes and be in the moment."
Having already picked up 213,000 streams since it’s early March release, Emily is growing rapidly. With features on New Music Friday UK, Weekly Buzz and The Pop List playlist, she has also enjoyed a huge 605% increase in playlist followers to 4,609,375 in the past seven days alone (TalentAI).
