Our Hottest Artist In The World, Kid Astray have returned with an incredibly infectious electro-pop EP, ‘Ignite’.
Norwegian electro-pop 5-piece Kid Astray first formed back in 2010, when they met at high school in Sandvika, Norway. Bonding over electro-tinged, indie-pop, the band quickly picked up a style and began to push their music beyond their local area, picking up significant support across Scandinavia, before earning a support slot with The Wombats.
After a long recording break, the band are back armed with material infectious enough to push them beyond the realms of Scandinavia.
Kid Astray have just shared their latest EP ‘Ignite’.
Opening track ‘Joanne’ was released as a single earlier this year and from that point, it was clear that the band had spent time crafting a fresh electro-pop sound. With perfectly woven vocals gliding over well-placed synth, drum and guitar parts, the time in the studio seems to have paid off. On tracks like ‘Can’t Stop’, funky electro-breakdowns add a refreshing element to their latest evolution as a band.
Following the release of ‘Ignite’ on Friday, the band have enjoyed an increase in total playlist followers to over 100,000 and a direct Spotify following of 16.3k (Instrumental).
