Introducing our Hottest Artist In The World, Nick Brewer.
An artist bubbling just above the surface in the U.K. rap scene, Nick Brewer has long been praised for his grind. A heartfelt storyteller, layering clever wordplay over jazzy-beats, Brewer is different to his contemporaries. Although still a golden collaborator, his previous releases have featured the likes of George The Poet, Little Simz, JP Cooper and Stormzy.
On his latest single ‘Many Moods: Manifesto’, Brewer goes alone, taking things back to his hometown to backdrop a raw track which explores pride and embracing oneself.
Speaking to frtyfve about the roots of the track, Nick said:
It’s fun going back to my roots. It feels quite vulnerable at the same time though. For a lot of my life I feel as if I’ve been quite apologetic about who I am and where I’m from, but I’m at a place now where I know I have to be proud of these things."
Discussing the process of releasing the track, he said:
In some ways it felt like I was starting again when I released my first song in over a year in October 2017 (Many Moods: Madness). But it’s a challenge I’ve been enjoying, and I’m enjoying releasing songs and performing again. I’m working on a longer project too, which I’m really excited about, and should be ready for the summer."
After features on ten influential playlists, including Mellow Bars, Alternative Hip Hop and Rap UK, Nick Brewer has picked up over 1.5m total playlist followers, complementing his 6, 000 direct followers on Spotify (TalentAI).
