On our radar: The Blinders

Written by frtyfve Team

Doncaster born trio The Blinders have exploded onto the UK’s live circuit over the last two years. Combining psych-lyricism, punk politics and ferocious hooks, the band have found the perfect algorithm to live success.

The band formed in 2014 and relocated from the coalfields of South Yorkshire to Manchester. They’ve since enjoyed touring stints with The Charlatans, The View and Cabbage, as well as regular festival appearances at Reading & Leeds and the Isle of Wight.

They’ve just dropped a storming new single ‘Gotta Get Through’, which is the first preview from their eagerly anticipated full-length debut album. A storm of noise, driven by dark bass lines and drum parts, the track is held together by frontman Thomas Haywood’s persistent rallying calls. Seven days ago they had just 5,700 total playlist followers on Spotify. Following the release of the new single, they've now got over 113,000, after being added to 4 new playlists. Such exciting stats suggest that the band could be ready to conquer beyond their live shows with their debut album.
