ALASKALASKA return with Meateater, our Track of the Day.
South London fast-risers ALASKALASKA are back with a follow up to their self-titled debut EP. ‘Meateater’ is an 80s inspired disco-pop groover, described by Lucinda John-Duarte (vocalist) as “about how frustrating it is to be categorised or stereotyped. We’re always in competition with each other or ourselves, trying to sell ourselves like meat and hiding parts of our being in the process.”
The track has been released ahead of their upcoming tour dates supporting Porches at Village Underground and Nilüfer Yanya on her UK headline tour.
Over the past 7 days, the track has enjoyed a 211% increase in track followers on Spotify, with features on New Indie Mix, Ultimate Indie and Compact Cassette, pushing its following to over 2.6 million (Instrumental).
